Dr. Abiba is a highly experienced expert person with an extensive knowledge of the Ghanaian insurance industry. Throughout her career, she has held various positions and has played a key role in formulating policies in the insurance space.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Dr. Abiba has served on numerous boards and organizations both locally and internationally. She is frequently consulted on reinsurance and insurance matters in Ghana and the West African sub-region.
Dr. Abiba began her career as an Assistant Marketing Manager at SIC, where she quickly advanced to the position of Marketing Manager. She then transitioned into reinsurance with Ghana Re, where she enjoyed a successful career, moving through ranks ranks such as Marketing Manager, Domestic Manager, Senior Domestic Manager, Acting Head of Technical, Deputy Managing Director, and eventually becoming the Managing Director. At the end of her tenure at Ghana Re, she joined TG Holdings Company Limited as the Group Chief Operating Officer, overseeing 14 companies within the group.
Dr. Abiba later served as Deputy CEO at WAICA Reinsurance until her retirement in 2023. She is currently, the founder and Managing Director of both SILENT SCREAM FOUNDATION, an NGO and THE STRATEGIST CONSORTIUM.
Academically, she holds a Doctorate from the Swiss Management Center, a Master’s in Business Administration, and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Home Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon. She also earned an LLB from KAAF University. Her professional qualifications include membership of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), Fellowship in the Institute of Risk Management Professional (Ghana), and Fellowship in the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK). Additionally, she is a pastor at the Assemblies of God Church.
